It’s been two years since there were no Covid restrictions in place for fireworks night and it has been four years since the event fell on a weekend. As a result, local displays here in West Sussex are back with a bang for 2021. Filled with family fun, food and friendly flames, we’ve collated the best of the Guy Fawkes Night events near you. Stay safe and stay warm!

Friday 5th November & Saturday 6th November

The Kennels, Chichester

You’ll be spoilt for choice at The Kennels Dining Room, Goodwood, which is hosting events on both Friday 5th and Saturday 6th November. What’s more, you can choose to watch the delightful displays from the warmth of the dining room while enjoying a mouth-watering three-course meal, or choose to book a field ticket to immerse yourself in the outside atmosphere. Live music and children’s activities will be taking place too.

Saturday 6th November

Fishbourne Centre

This well-loved event is back and it's bigger than ever. Being held on Saturday evening, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, from a funfair for the kids to a BBQ and bar for the adults. After the bonfire and the 8pm display, there will be a performance from Pamela & the Divas in the hall at 9pm. The centre is asking for a donation of £5 per person.

Madehurst Cricket Club

Another local village event and this time there’s an early taste of Christmas. Grab a glass of mulled wine as well as BBQ food, hot drinks and cakes. There’s also live music in addition to the bonfire and fireworks, which are starting around 7pm.

Petworth

A great free event for all the family at Hampers Green, with sparklers for the kids at no cost too! This is generally a quieter event, which makes it a good option if you have really little ones. There will be a torch lit parade at 6pm, followed by the lighting of the bonfire and the fireworks display.

Sunday 7th November

Walberton Fireworks and Bonfire Night

Wrap up and head to the pavilion on the playing fields for 5.30pm to see the weekend out with a bang. Hot food, hot drinks and a bar for cold refreshments will be available ahead of the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm, with fireworks at 7pm. Tickets are available on the gate - £6 per adult and £3 for children over the age of 3.
